Roopkund Lake is also known as “Skeleton Lake”. It is situated at an altitude of 16499 feet in the middle of the Himalayan mountain peaks in the state of Uttarakhand. It is a deserted place and contains more than 500 human skeletons. This lake is covered with snow for most of the year. Now it has become a famous tourist destination. Currently, Roopkund Lake is located in the foothills of Trishul and Nanda Ghungti, two Himalayan peaks. This lake remains covered with snow for most of the year.
